“They received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” (NASB)
God Will Rise Again in Glory is a cohesive, Scripture-shaped worship song that follows Ezekiel’s movement from God’s gracious deliverance of Israel, through rebellion, idolatry, judgment, and exile, to restoration for the sake of God’s holy name. Its central claim is not that God ever lacks intrinsic glory, but that he rises in decisive judgment and redemption to make his holiness publicly known again among his people and before the nations. Drawing on Ezekiel’s message to Israel, the song also invites Christ’s church to hear its warning and hope: God’s people must not dishonor his holy name through sin, yet he remains faithful to judge, cleanse, restore, and make his holiness known. The final lifted chorus turns that theological climax into doxology.
Primary themes include covenant grace; Israel’s ingratitude and idolatry; exile as righteous judgment; repentance and hope; restoration; God’s holy name; and God’s universal kingship. This framing accords with Ezekiel 20’s historical review of Israel’s rebellion and promised purification, and with Ezekiel 36–39’s emphasis on God restoring Israel, making his holy name known, and displaying his glory before the nations.
