Songs of faith, shared as a legacy for family, church, and generations to come.
“One generation will praise Your works to another, And will declare Your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4 (NASB)
Grandpa Online Music Ministry is a collection of original Christian songs shaped by Scripture, faith, and a lifetime of learning to walk with God. It began with a simple desire: to leave something lasting for my children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow—a record of the songs God placed on my heart and the faith that has carried me through life.
This ministry also exists to share these songs freely with the wider body of Christ. Here you may find recordings, lyrics, chord charts, Scripture references, and background notes for each song. My hope is that these songs will be useful for personal listening and reflection, family or small-group devotion, Bible study and teaching, and congregational worship.
If a song encourages you, helps you draw nearer to God, or becomes useful in your church, I would be grateful to hear from you.
I am a retired carpenter and software developer; a husband, father, grandfather, and follower of Jesus Christ. My wife and I have been married since 1981. God has blessed us with a close and growing family, and this music ministry is one way I hope to leave them a legacy of faith.
I began writing songs as a young man, but my songwriting changed as my faith deepened and I spent more time in prayer and God’s Word. Many of my first Christian songs came from simply sitting with God in prayer. They were songs of worship, praise, confession, longing, and hope.
Over the years, I became more interested in writing songs that were closely shaped by Scripture. That is still where many of them begin today: with prayer, reflection on God’s Word, and an attempt to put its message into words and music that can be remembered and sung.
For about 25 years, I had the privilege of serving as a worship leader in several churches. During those years, I was blessed to use some of my original songs in weekly services and to hear congregations sing them together.
Since retiring from work in 2021, I have had more time to write, revisit older songs, and begin sharing this music more widely.
About the Music
These are original songs shaped by my own faith, prayer, study, and reflection on Scripture. Some are direct responses to biblical passages; others express themes of worship, repentance, assurance, struggle, hope, and relationship with God. The lyrics, melodies, and chord progressions come from my own songwriting process, as I seek to respond to God through prayer, His Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Most recordings here are simple guitar-and-vocal demos. I am still learning the recording process, and I no longer sing as strongly as I once did, but these recordings are meant to serve a practical purpose: helping listeners learn the songs, share them, and carry them forward. They are not intended to be polished commercial productions; they are offered as honest, usable expressions of worship.
New songs will be added as they become ready. I have chosen to share them as they are completed rather than wait until every detail feels perfect, because striving for “perfect” can easily keep me from sharing them at all. My prayer is that, even in their simplicity, these songs may still be useful to those who hear them.
About the Worshiper
I have believed in God for as long as I can remember, even through seasons when my faith felt distant, uncertain, or neglected. I was raised in the Catholic Church and returned to church at important points in my life. Over time, my faith became more personal, and I grew in my desire to know and follow Christ.
One of the turning points came while I was building our family home. I was working long days as a carpenter while also spending early mornings, evenings, and weekends building the house myself. In that exhausting season, I often found myself praying for help. I came to see that I needed God not only in difficult moments, but in every part of life.
Later, after an injury gave me unexpected time away from work, I read through the Bible for the first time with a new willingness to believe and receive what I was reading. God used His Word to awaken a hunger in me to know Him more deeply. That hunger led to study, service, teaching, worship leadership, and songwriting.
I am still learning. These songs are not Scripture, and they are not meant to replace it. They are simply the reflections of a worshiper whose life has been changed, challenged, sustained, and continually drawn back by the faithfulness of God.
